In 2023, 43-50% of SC students did not meet or exceed reading expectations on the SC Ready Reading exam. Students with disabilities scored even lower with 78-88% of students not meeting or exceeding reading expectations.

There is Hope

Discovery Therapies, Inc. offers a small group reading intervention to partner with homeschool families in SC. This unique approach research based and designed by The National Institute for Learning Development (nild.org) allows families to band together and collectively help their children catch up in their reading skills.

Reading Small Groups at a Glance

Reading Group Sessions

  • 2 - 45 minute sessions per week
  • $125 per student per month
  • Each group capped at 6 students

Form a full group with your friends to lock in a lower group rate:

  • Bring 3 others: $400
  • Bring 4 others: $450
  • Bring 5 others: $480

    Gray Matter Literacy is specifically tailored to take a cognitive approach to reading to foster lasting change.

    Our intervention adresses all five critical components of successful reading.

Sign up for an informational meeting to learn more about a reading group for your child or how to train to become a reading instructor. Training for the instructors will be September 13 and 14.
